Bali 2006 – the first days

P9043968.JPGThis year’s trip to Bali has been one of the most rewarding journeys I have ever made. It will be remembered as a classic trip to an extraordinary island. Although with only 14 days net in Bali, our holiday has been characterised by diversity, serenity and community.

P9104353.JPGIt’s now 10 days since Sylvia and I have returned from an astounding trip to Bali. With expectations irritably low, it turned out to be a classic trip which saw us catching up with my dear friends from Australia, Gerhard and Rosemarie, at the beginning and John, Simone, Julian and Andreas at the end.

Half marathon

Having dedicated my 20s to football, I have always connected sports and movement with a ball, speed and very often nearly total exhaustion . After the end of my ‘carreer’, I started to appreciate the benefits of running – without a ball, just by myself . I started running very slowly, which I had given a negative quality for in football everything has to be quick, only to find that it can be a meditative and rejuvinating experience. (more…)
