Here are some impressions from our relaxing holiday in Baska on the island of Krk/Croatia, June 29 – July 07. We had a wonderful time there, enjoying the beautiful, clean sea, baking in the sun and checking out the many Croatian restaurants in the cosy hamlet of Baska. We met a friend, Ivo, who we rented an appartment from, and with whom we hung out in Marinero, his favourite bar, drinking sportskas (small glasses of draught) and listening to stories from his adventures as a captain in the Caribean sea. One day we embarked on a hike into the ivory-coloured hills sourrounding Baska. We climbed Mt Bag (185 m) and Mt Ljubimer (220 m), which offered grand views of the bay, and village and strolled down to the southern tip of Krk to the lighthouse at Rt. Skuljica in order to take in the freshness of the early morning.
